Our Purpose
We are aware that the public school system in Yaoundé, Cameroon provides a utilitarian education without such luxuries as art, music, and dance. Therefore, in designing this project, we fine-tuned it to meeting wants and desires for students who enjoy music; we aim to provide these opportunities for students so that they are able to explore their creative capabilities.
2016-2017 School Year is Foundation Year
For the reason that C.R.E.A.T.E. is a new project, the essence of this year is to establish trust and friendship in the community. Therefore to get the all students comfortable with teaching and learning instruments, we have started with the Recorder, a rudimentary musical instrument. Momentarily, our students have been instructing the new students on how to play the recorder. We have weekly visits to Maxime Prestige and conduct practice sessions as well as group performances. The C.R.E.A.T.E. service program has raised enough money to purchase 25 locally made recorders for Maxime Prestige Primary School.
